Before hosting a co-op game, ensure both players have Pranks activated. To do this, open the options menu and select Co-op. From here, choose Co-op Settings. Hover over Pranks and enable the slider.
I'm surprised there aren't more people talking about this. Started a co-op playthrough with my friend today and we got constant disconnects. It seemed to happen mostly when someone would turn in a mission. We played for around 4 hours and we definitely had at least 10 disconnects.
